About Daniel
My treatment style involves helping you become more attuned to your personal strengths which can help create positive change in your relationships, work, and overall well being. Prior to entering private practice, I was a therapist and clinical supervisor at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services (JBFCS) where I treated hundreds of cases involving anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, ADHD, relationship and family issues, and provided clinical supervision to graduate student interns and newly licensed therapists. I was also a consultant mediator for the Nassau County Family Court where I worked with divorcing couples on settling custody / visitation and child support disputes.
I've had numerous public speaking engagements around New York City, where I've presented on a variety of topics such as trauma and loss, depression, mediation, solution-focused and family therapy. My scholarly interests include working with fathers through divorce, separation, and re-marriage, co-parenting, and family therapy related to parents with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia.
I hold a master of science degree in clinical social work from Columbia University, a doctorate in marriage and family therapy from the University of Louisiana, and received advanced training in couple's and family therapy at the JBFCS Selig Institute. I have also completed graduate work in mediation at Columbia University's International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution.
